Dr. Ashley Miller, CMIO, will lead a panel presentation on e-health initiatives in Nova Scotia, including the new OPOR-Clinical Information System (CIS). Dr. Miller will be joined by colleagues to share information, bust OPOR and CIS myths, and answer commonly asked questions by physicians. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists at the end of the presentation.
After this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize how OPOR integrates with other digital initiatives
- Navigate the provincial e-health-care system/environment to engage and affect change.

An inspirational keynote from Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser, four-time Olympic Gold Medallist and Member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Dr. Wickenheiser will speak on leadership, performance and teamwork.
Seven world championships, six Olympic appearances, five Olympic medals — Dr. Wickenheiser is a titan of sport and a leader both on and off the ice.
Dr. Wickenheiser was a first-ballot Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, and her hockey IQ is highly respected by both male and female hockey players. She has played in and coached at four NHL development camps with the Philadelphia Flyers, the Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 2018, Dr. Wickenheiser joined the Toronto Maple Leafs as assistant director of player development and was promoted to assistant general manager in 2022.
Alongside her career in the NHL, Dr. Wickenheiser practises family and emergency medicine in the Toronto area — a pursuit she had dreamt of her whole life and began in 2017 following her retirement from the National Women’s Hockey Team after 23 years. She is also the author of Over the Board: Lessons from the Ice.
Dr. Wickenheiser is also a member of the Order of Canada, a retired member of the International Olympic Committee’s Athlete’s Commission, member of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, and founder of The Canadian Tire Wickenheiser World Female Hockey Festival.
After this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify and achieve individual leadership goals, particularly in the areas of performance and teamwork.
- Use their knowledge to effectively influence and navigate complex systems.
